While agriculture underlies the world’s current big challenges, it provides many solutions. For the first time ever, an international and multidisciplinary forum once again places agriculture at the heart of issues facing mankind, given that agriculture delivers so any other benefits for society at large. Whether issues mankind faces are demographic, environmental, energy, social, economic or geopolitical, we need to think outside the box and across the board to come up with ground-breaking new ways to produce and consume food.
The Planet A® Forum will call on the expertise and responsibilities of each and every one of its 350 international participants including leaders from local communities, institutions, government policy makers, businesses and experts, in order to come up with tangible pledges and ground-breaking proposals so as to fuel debate at the highest level. Proposals will be put together in an “Open Book” and presented at big international conferences in 2018 and 2019 such as G20 Agricultural Ministries, One Planet Summit, COP24, and world and regional events etc, and must be followed up by ‘walking the talk’.
The Planet A® International Agriculture Forum is apolitical and was developed in partnership with the Jean Jaurès Foundation, Fondapol and other global think-tanks. Emmanuel Macron, French President, is patron of Planet A®.
